Privacy Policy

Steal or Skip ("the app") is published by Moneylabo ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what we do with it. The short version: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and we don't sell your data.

What we collect

• Photos you scan. When you scan an item, the photo (and any close-up clue photos) is sent to our server and to our AI provider to identify the item and estimate its value. We do not store your photos on our server. Your photos and scan history are saved on your device.
• Details you type. Clue answers (for example, a weight or a label), and the tag price you enter, are sent with the scan so we can price the item.
• A random app ID. The app creates a random identifier on your device. It is not tied to your name, email, Apple ID or advertising ID. We use it to count free scans and daily limits, run invite codes, and show your leaderboard entry.
• Scan results. For each finished scan we store the estimated value, tag price and verdict (STEAL or SKIP) with your random app ID. We use this for daily limits and the weekly leaderboard.
• Leaderboard details (optional). If you join the leaderboard, we store a nickname we generate for you and, if you choose one, your US state. You can leave the leaderboard at any time in the app.
• Subscription status. If you subscribe, the app sends Apple's signed transaction record to our server so we can confirm your plan. Payments are handled entirely by Apple; we never see your card or Apple ID.

What we don't collect

• No name, email, phone number, contacts or account.
• No precise location. The app never asks for GPS.
• No advertising IDs, no third-party ads, no cross-app tracking.

Who else processes your data

• Anthropic (AI provider) receives scan photos and clue answers to produce the appraisal. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used to train their models.
• eBay receives a short text search (for example, "Pyrex 403 mixing bowl") to look up current market listings. No photos or IDs are sent to eBay.
• Supabase hosts our server and database in the United States.
• Apple processes all purchases and subscriptions.

How long we keep it

Photos are not kept on our server. Scan results, usage counts, invite codes and leaderboard entries are kept while the app is in use and deleted on request.

Your choices

• Delete any find on your device from the find's screen, or delete the app to remove everything stored on your device.
• Leave the leaderboard in the app at any time.
• To delete the data on our server, email us with the invite code shown in the app (it lets us find your records without knowing who you are). We'll delete it within 30 days.

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Values are estimates

Prices in the app are AI estimates based on the photo, your clues and current market listings. They are not professional appraisals or authentication.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
